The fourth film in the John Wick saga, starring Keanu Reeves, is among many of the most anticipated films of 2024, and its trailer release this Thursday has already sparked excitement among fans. Lionsgate, the production company that is behind this film shared the trailer on social media, offering an insight into what’s coming.

The storyline of the film is still largely unknown, but the synopsis states it will be a battle royale. John Wick will face his most deadly adversaries to date when he fights to the High Table worldwide. The film will have action scenes in various locations which include New York, Paris, Japan and Berlin as well as be the longest-running film in the saga.

The cast members who are returning to the show include Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick, while newcomers Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgard, Clancy Brown, and Scott Adkins join the lineup. Skarsgard, who plays the role of the villain Marquis de Gramont, has stated that his character will not compete with Wick physically however, he will utilize his intelligence and knowledge of his knowledge of the “evil government” to pose a challenge to Reeves’ character.

John Wick’s universe continues to grow with the spin-off film, Ballerina, which features Ana de Armas in the lead role and Reeves making an appearance in the role of John Wick. The film is in development and will be released in 2023.

As well as the spin-off, a prequel series titled The Continental is also in the works, set to run for three episodes and premiering at Amazon Prime Video. The show will star Colin Woodell as Winston and Ayomide Adegu playing the younger character Charon.
